About Me

I would say I came from a musical family because my mom is a successful Hokien artist based in Taiwan. Growing up, she used to bring me to recording studios, TV shows when she worked, and on tour since I could remember.

I’ve been on this soul-searching journey as a musician and just a girl since I decided that I wanted to do music around the age of 6. To be honest, growing up and being compared to my mom’s legacy was a hard journey for me to find my authentic identity and sound.

I always knew that I wanted to be a musician, but the kind of musician I wanted to be has changed over time. I wasn’t the most popular kid when I was young, and my ability to sing was the only thing that other kids found interesting about me. It became a big part of my identity. Music used to be a way for me to receive attention and love, and now it’s a way for me to express myself and attract those who resonate with me.

Around the age of 8, I fell in love with street dancing and started getting involved in all the local and national dance competitions. My music is deeply rooted in genres like Urban, Hip Hop, R&B, and dance-pop, which I grew up dancing to.

At the age of 14, I started appearing on TV shows in Taiwan as a singer-dancer. While nurturing my passion for music production, I began making beats in FL Studio. In high school, I finally embraced my talent in music, took singing lessons, and started taking songwriting and production seriously.

I came to Boston at the age of 18 because of the opportunity to study at Berklee College of Music, where I really got to know myself and my musical journey. I started the artist project “L1Z,” which blends my unique Asian and American music influences and my life experiences into songs.

As an artist, I feel that it’s my duty to tell stories about what I’ve learned about love and how I used to not understand my own worth or the love I deserved. I grew up without a father, and my mother was always busy working to support the whole family. I took the long way  to learn what unconditional love is and that we are always enough and deserve the best.

I want to connect with listeners who resonate with my experiences and heal together with them over time. I am only 21 years old, and I know I still have a long way to go to learn about love, healing, and souls. Combining my passion for songwriting, production, helping others heal, and singing, I believe I will find fans who want to grow and heal with me.
